Is it OK to leave aerosol-can windshield de-icer in my car during the winter?
|
I know the can isn't supposed to be exposed to heat above 120 degrees and so it's probably stupid to leave it in one's car during the summer. But I live in Minnesota and want to leave one in my car the next couple months of winter. It's ranging like 20 below to 30 above. Is this all right? Will freezing temperatures in a car harm an aerosol can?

First off, screw the EPA. It's a good thing I stocked up on de-icer last year because I can't find it on sale anywhere.
Anyway, keep a couple of cans. One can should be in the car. One can should be in a bag you take with you to school or the office or where ever you go off without the car. Then alternate. Take the cold can and put it in your bag. Use the warm can in your bag on the windows and leave that in your car.
You can also use the de-icer as a self defense weapon in case you catch some terrorist trying to break into your car. I sprayed some punk in the face with it trying to break into my car. It's like a poor man's mace. |

I live in the cold and leave mine in the car with no problems. just thought of this I wonder if the spray would be more effective if it was room temp. rather than below zero< |

HI YA Mr.C, living here in New Orleans,i really don't have
an answer, except to say, don't leave anything to chance.
if you're really in doubt, take the cans out of he car until
you need them,it's not going to take any effort.we don't
have that problem down here, thank God.good luck.
