It is very easy and the only thing that I have seen is that people get too lazy driving automatic transmissions which leaves them more time to find distractions, be smart and drive safe. |

considering there's no timing to pay attention to for shift, no use of a clutch, no manual switching between gears (except the obvious drive, neutral, reverse, etc.) it is quite a bit easier than manual. it's just not as much fun. |

yes it is much easier |

Quite. Automatic doesn't require you to manually shift the gears and learn to work the clutch with your foot at the same time...you just put it in gear while sitting still (motor running of course) and drive on. Easy.
It's a good way to get used to driving among other drivers and concentrate on other things like courtesy, safety and the rules of the road - but I'd still recommend you learn to drive a manual transmission once you are comfortable in the automatic so you can if you need to.
I learned on an automatic myself and it was nice to not have the distraction of the gears and clutch as a learner but I did choose to learn on a manual while at college as I wanted to drive my drunk friends home safely in any car that needed a safe driver. They appreciated it.
Good luck!! |

Yes it is practically effortless. |

yes its def easier. An automatic changes gears by itself, a manual you have to push the clutch and switch the gears at the right time. start with an automatic, move to manual later. |

yup very easy no clutch to stepped o to to run |

Not entirely. What they mean is that there are many things for a new driver to learn, and an automatic transmission will be easier for starting and stopping for you can concentrate on other things. There's lots to learn at once and this makes one less worry. |

With an automatic transmission, you don't have to know much or pay much attention to the gears.
Which allows you to focus on the important things:
- Steering
- Not following too close
- Not making any sudden moves (which can get you in trouble quickly)
- Learning that when you turn your head to see something, you often turn the steering wheel at the same time (which you don't want to do)
Learn well and be confident. Drivers who are can't decide
what to do cause accidents
Good Luck |

True, but you'll find yourself "handicapped". On the other hand, if you learn manual transmission, you'll find it easier to adapt to manual, auto and sequential transmission. |

If you drive a manual now then driving an automatic is even easier. if you have never driven before then it does not take very long to learn how...eventually you will be able to do it with your eyes closed...but I wouldn't reccomend it.
Seriously dont. |

yes very much true..see with an automatic you just put it in drive and press on the gas..and to stop you press on the the break..but with the other you have to learn how to press on the clutch and and change it in to a gear..which there is 4 gears..and you have to know the right time to put it in a certain gear... so it so much easier to drive an automatic..hope that makes sense and helps! |

disgustingly easy, but if i were you, i'd learn manual. much cooler. |

yes. if it is your first time driving a tip to give is that the gas pedal is sensitive, press very lightly on it when accelerating..but driving a stick or manual is cooler.
it looks like ppl here are saying manual is a distraction.. it took me like 2 days of driving a stick, and shifting became a second nature, kinda like breathing, didnt have to think about it at all |
