Speed averaging cameras can be fooled by changing lanes, they are trying to close that software loophole. Regular Gatso or Truvelo camera's don't give a monkeys what lane you are in and !flash! you are nicked. |

no police can stop you anywhere as long as they spot you speeding. |

Nope! Who told you that? |

If you're speeding and they get you, however they do it, then it's your problem, there's nothing that says you have to be speeding in a certain place to be caught. The hand held speed traps can be pointed anywhere...
Slow down. |

Law is a complicated thing, however speed limits are set in areas and sign posted or denoted by street lighting. It doesn't matter what lane you are travelling in. Gatso cameras or similar roadside devices can be angled to cover all lanes and certainly don't point to one lane, and not an adjacent one. |

That is not the law here. Here being Vermont, USA. You get caught speeding, it doesn't matter if you are a clown and have 9 other clowns in your car... you are still speeding. |

It doesn't matter which lane you're in, you'll get caught. The small lines painted on the road allow the camera operator to see which car in the picture was caught. |

Not true. If they bag you, then you're bagged. Go to court and try and get traffic school. Doesn't hurt ot have a lawyer wither when you go. I'm sure you'll find one when you go to court, they hang like vultures.
As a note, I have also seen the police using airplanes and helicopters. They have marks on the lane that are exactly spaced and they can time you as to how much time passes between marks and they can radio the patrol car and pow, they got you. |

If you go to court, and try that you will lose. You can't fight city hall, just pay the fine, and slow down... |

UK rules: Average speed cameras can only monitor 1 lane at a time, so If you change lanes you should be ok (rules say speed monitored in a straight line). Temporary av. speeds in road works can catch you even with lane changes. Yellow boxes can get you anywhere. Believe rules currently under review |
