Hi I was driving along the A14 the other day and I don’t think I was speeding but I passed a mobile speed camera van parked on the grass verge of the dual carriageway, my question is, is it legal for any vehicle to park on the grass verge of a dual carriageway?

What you probably didn't see was the hardstanding that the vehicle was parked on, and the nice little blue sign hidden behind the vehicle stating "police vehicles only"
Remember, that wherever the police want to put mobile speed camera they have had to have these special areas constructed for them, at God knows how much cost to taxpayers, and why??? Because of all the people who got caught speeding, complaining that the camera van was parked illegallybecause they got caught speeding and were trying to get out of it!!
If you weren't speeding then don't worry - let the police do their job of getting idiots off the streets, so that one of them doesn't kill YOU!
They probably weren't catching speeding motorists anyway, it was probably an ANPR vehicle, catching uninsured, stolen, untaxed vehicles, again, if these idiots were to hit you, you would be screwed and lose your no-claims bonus, so, again, let the police do their job.....they are trying to protect people like you! |
