No it's not but if it's safer being in front of someone than being behind them, it's worth getting the possible ticket.

This depends on how fast you are travelling.
I don't think any police officer would pull you over because you are passing someone at a speed slightly over the speed limit.
I have had to speed up significantly to prevent a semi unit from hitting me when he had to avoid someone who pulled onto the highway in front of him.
So, NO it isn't "legal", but at times you have no alternative......"common sense"

Only if you have a license to speed... a gun & badge or a little red fire engine !

Of course not. A speed limit is just that, the maximum you can travel that road under perfect conditions. Going over it at any time for any reason is a violation and can lead to a ticket.

NO, it is still a speeding violation. If you must speed to pass you should remain behind that vehicle.

Of course it is not legal. The law dosn't change just because you want to rush.
