Is it ok to drive a car with no headlights during the day?

Yes...but if you are caught in a rainstorm or fog bank and have no headlights and are in an accident or cause an accident, you may be found liable. Some states make headlights mandatory for that reason, so check your driver's manual.

In Canada daytime headlights are mandatory.

Yes, if the vehicle is not equiped with daytime running lights (DRL). If raining, headlights should be used at all times.

City, yes. Highway, I would say no. It is a safety issue. Other drivers can see you sooner with them on.

as long as it's not raining or fog no need for the head lights to be on.. the lights on the cars today are on for Curtice, and so they say the other motorist can see you better.thats all..

I would think that it is just fine to drive without headlights on during the day. I don't think it is illegal. You see so many idiots in the rain and fog with no headlights on and I never saw a cop pull them over. I would say it is safe to drive a car with no headlights on unless it is foggy or raining. Safety should always come first..

Good question....................and the answer is both yes and no.

Yes you can drive but you also can be pulled over for a safety violation because the police officer could get in trouble if you were later involved in an accident at night and he or she did not ticket you.....

As long as u have turn signals you should be ok.

redhzkingswood
Depends whether you state requires cars to meet a roadworthy standard, like most sensible countries do. If so, your car is definitely unroadworthy, you can be fined, and the car can be put off the road.
