Is it okay to drive with 2 feet?
|
Ok so I've been learning how to drive from my mom. She drives with two feet because she's left handed and she says I can drive whichever way I feel more comfortable, to be honest I feel more in control with two feet. Does anyone else drive like this and do you think I'll get marked down on my driving test?

Drive how you feel comfortable. The only way you will get marked down on your driver's test is if you are driving erratically, hit objects on the test course or forget to do important procedures such as check your mirror or make sure the passenger has their seat belt on. Driving with two feet doesn't make you any less of a driver. As long as it isn't dangerous or hazardous to other drivers on the road then I see no problem with it. Everyone has their own driving style so do what suits you best. |

Driving an automatic transmission vehicle with two feet is a bad idea.
Very bad idea.
You will have better control with just your right foot for the gas and brake pedal. By using one foot for both, you will never hit both at the same time and it will be very hard to hit the wrong one (not "by accident", there are NO accidents when it comes to you using the controls). |

NEVER drive with two feet. In an emergency situation, you may react on impulse and depress the wrong pedal, be it the brake or gas. |

You will be failed driving with two feet.
ALSO you are paranoid about hitting something which is why you are using 2 feet.
People who use 2 feet are in danger of being rear-ended because their brakelights stay on all the time so no one knows when you are going to stop!
Do it right!
ONE foot! |

your reaction time is better with ONE foot...
I would recommend learning to use just one.. Unless its a standard..
its too risky, you might need to slam on the "breaks" when in fact, you are hitting the gas... Get out of that habit QUICK! |

From what I've seen, this leads to driving with one foot resting on the brake. While it probably wears out brake linings quickly and costs extra money, it sure does annoy the he-- out of the driver behind you!
You could end up with a restriction on your license that states "Automatic Transmission Only". I have seen that in some states, but it may or may not exist in yours. The reason is obviously because you are already using your two available feet and do not have a third, to operate a clutch pedal (if equipped). |

I dont think the person grading you on your driving test would even notice buuuuut it doesnt seem safe to me. It seems like you would sometimes get mixed up and accidentally step on the wrong one or both at once. |

Yes it is okay but it has been proven that this can cause you to have an accident because you can get confused using two feet and you will ruin your vehicles braking system faster. |
