my instructor told me that I need to move up in the middle of the intersection before turning left at a full green light and I was so scared because I don't want people behind me honk a horn at me when the light change to red!!! do you really have to move up in the middle of the intersection before turning left or is it optional that you can just stay there for green arrow light to come???

A green light on a left turn lane works like a yield sign- you will wait until it is safe to make your left turn, then proceed through the intersection once it is safe to do so.
A left arrow is a dedicated signal giving the cars in the turn lane sole right of way to safely make the left turn through the intersection. |
