ive herd the power steering and a.b.s work off the same pump and these are liable to fail? are they reliable or not.im thinking of buying a 1.6tdci zetec

I would expect EPS (electric Power steering) on a Focus, the abs is usually also an electric motor modulator device. Both of these items are fairly reliable. If you are still concerned Google 'Ford Focus C-Max faults' and see what comes up. |

Average for reliability, good engines as they're Peugeot rather than Ford.
Power steering pump is conventional, nothing to do with the ABS system.
They're an odd choice of car, so usual Ford massive depreciation applies. I was talking to someone a couple of weeks ago who'd bought a faultless 2 year old, 15,000 mile one for £1,200 at auction. (yes, one thousand two hundred pounds - that's 90% depreciation in 24 months) |

I used to have a Focus, and I loved it! It was almost never in the shop, except for regular maintainence, of course. I never had a problem with my Focus until I got into an accident. They are like aluminum cans. . .they just crumple. |
