I got a ticket in Cupertino CA, for child seat belt violation.
My child(9 year old) was sharing the seat belt with my wife.
We were travelling on local streets, less than 40mph.
the Violation code is VC-27360.5a-I
EVen though the law says first time violation's fine is $100; but I got fine for $396 plus 1 point on DMV record.
Questions:-
1. Both mother and child had seat belt on. Hence, what is the violation?
2. With 1 point on DMV, to remain there for 3 years, how will it affect my car insurance?

Your wife would crush the kid as her weight would go forward and squeeze the kid between her and the belt. I would of fined you more than 396. dollars.. And your more worried about points on your record and your insurance cost.If you cant figure this out you should be walking........UJN |

it is wrong because of the fact of what if an accident did happen and the child got hurt.you would be mad at yourself and the other person in the accident.plus your body weight could hurt the child in a wreck more |

It is wrong and very dangerous. The forward moving weight of the adult would injure the child in the event of an accident. |

Yes it is dangerous.........it is one seat belt for each person or in your case one seat belt for you and a car seat for your child, riding this way would killed the child and or you as well.
Your insurance should increase at least by 25 percent........ |

SAFETY!! If you had to slam on your brakes your kids head would be split, and your wife would also be injured.
Affect it pretty badly I believe.. extra hundred bucks i'd say. |
