Try to find a better place to get your oil changed. The quality will be better and the price is not really any better at Walmart. The Consumerist has had a few articles recently about walmart ruining someones car and refusing to fix it.

Honestly i'd rather go to the dealership where the car was bought of if they charge too much then i'd rather go to like a Jiffy lube, im not so sure about walmart.

Well since thier employees are hourly at about 8.00, I would say NO.

Take it to either the dealer or the Jiffy Lube type place.

These people are pro's and know what they are doing.

on any new car be sure that the tech. is ASE cert. this way you know that he knows what he is doing.and it wont void your warrant

Plenty of dealers have ruined peoples cars, too. You can train a monkey to change the oil in a car, it's not rocket science. Take it to WalMart.

Make sure you don't need to go to the dealer for an oil change first cause some you need to go to the dealer or else it will void the warranty. I quit going to Wal-mart cause they took too long. I have also read how they fail to either put the oil plug back in tightly and it came out or forget to put oil in and that will cause your motor to blow. I go to one of those places where you don't even have to get out of the car and you can also keep up with what they are doing. It cost a little more but worth it cause you know everything is done.

I like Wal-Mart, although I've caught them not doing some of the lube points. You can pick the oil you want and you can pick the filter you want (never use their standard filter - use a Fram Tough Guard or any other quality filter with anti-drain back). They only charge you the difference in the counter price of the filter and/or oil. Your warranty is fine but it is a good idea to check their work - see if there's any oil under your car, for instance, when you go out to get it, and again later. I've been using them for a long time. An oil change is not rocket science, you don't need a certified mechanic, it is nice to have someone who has done one or two and you'll usually get that, at least. BTW: It's worth the difference to get full synthetic - much better and longer lasting.

I generally like walmart but will never use their automotive service.

They left the oil fill cap off my car, I had oil all over the engine. Luckily the cap was still under the hood.

They also stole or lost a chrome valve stem cover.

I'm convinced from this and from the general state of things in the shop, that they're inadequately trained and/or inadequately supervised.

I wouldn take any car there, new or old.

If you do not trust just would watch them do it. Usually you can see into the work bays. Just make sure you see the oil drain out, a technician swapping the oil filter, and then when leaving check the level on the dip stick.

Save the receipt just in case. I have never had problems with Walmarts services. Just remember you can get bad service anywhere, and everyone makes mistakes now and then.

Wal-Mart has low paid kids in their auto service. I've seen'em use air ratchets on oil plugs.

I have had w-m do my oil change with no trouble. The biggest problem with w-m is they hire wanna be know nothing, mechanics. oil change is pretty simple its not like your working on the space shuttle. I had a mechanic at a new car dealer forget to tighten the bolts on my timing belt cover and for that job I paid $80.00 per hour, so just spending more does not always get you a better job.

I wouldn't take my car to Wal-Mart. They hire too many young kids because they don't pay their employees anything. I would rather go to the dealer. Be sure you take your car to a place that has a open bay so you can actually watch them do the job. I have heard many cases where people drop their cars off for oil changes and the place never changes the oil.
