Is there a way to make a vehicle theft proof?

There was a product that was out 8 years ago, it was called Shell Shock.......but was later banned in the USA and it only legal in Africa now.

It basically makes all the body panels of your car feed live electricity, by using some kind of ground loop or something.

So the person touches your car Once and theres a Horn in the engine bay that Warns the person not to touch the car again.
If the car is touched again, it gives ANOTHER verbal warning.

And if the car is touched again, circuit is completed and the cars outter shell is then a livewire of juice.

So if someone touches it again, they get hit with 50-500,000 volts.

There are several ways to make such a product by yourself, however you would NEED to know quite abit about electronics and electricity first and REALIZE that's its very illegal.

Although it would be HARD to prove if someone got shocked on your car, because shocks leave NO VISIBLE DAMAGE.

The more work it is (and looks like) to steal, the less likely it is to be stolen. Besides an alarm, and a Club-like device, you could have a kill switch installed (in a hidden location) that doesn't allow the vehicle to start unless it's in the "on" position. Also don't leave a bunch of items out in plain sight to make the vehicle more interesting to a potential thief. Of course, unfortunately no matter what you do, if they want the car badly enough they will get it. Car thieves are ugly people and vigilante justice would be nice, but the way things are in the real world, their family would end up owning you & your car if you killed/injured them. It's BS but this is part of what auto insurance is for. Better luck to you.

years ago we used to hook a hot wire to the solinoid-quite a jolt. next best thing, stay up day and night with a 12 gauge!

That kind of security system will cost more than your Jeep!
But wouldn't that be nice...if only.

Buy an ugly, cheap car nobody wants to steal. And if they do, it can be easily replaced ;) Or, try getting some web cam or a tracking device installed in it. Make sure it's hidden tho. :)

Just don't do it if you're in the LA area, you'll stop my stealing spree, LOL!!! Just kidding :P

I haven't tried this, but:

What you could do is have a large nitrous oxide tank installed in the boot, hooked up to an electronically actuated valve. If a pin number isn't entered into a concealed keypad within a minute of the engine starting, the valve on the nitrous tank opens, filling the cabin with nitrous oxide.

This will get the thief feeling lightheaded and happy. A minute later, have the computer lock the doors. By this time the thief will probably be laughing so hard they've pulled over and stopped, and with any luck they'll be overcome by oxygen deprivation pretty quickly.

Cons: won't work if the windows are down.
