Is there any expert to tell me disadvantages of driving on motorway?

U.K. Government statistic:

Motorways are the safest roads to drive on. i.e. they have the lowest number of accidents for every 1,000 miles driven, than any other type of road.

1. The service stations are crap and expensive.
2. Boredom, because there's not much to do, like steer and change gear.
3. Trying to get past middle lane hoggers, who create traffic jams.
4. Spray from big trucks.

Assuming the motorway does not take you too many miles out of your way then I cant think of any real disadvantages.

One is to be aware that the traffic tends to move must faster than on other roads but it does not give that impression when you are part of it so if you want to go off at a junction get ready in plenty of time.
Two is that it is easy to exceed the speed limit and while there are not so many speed cameras etc on motorways they are there and it is easy to get a ticket.
Three is pay attention to signs. If you pass your exit it can be 10 miles before you can turn round
Four is make sure you car is in good condition, Brakes, tyres right pressure , plenty of fuel, oil levels right. The higher speeds can use more fuel and take a great toll on the engine.
Five is that it is easy to go the sleep on the motorway when you get tired. Stop, rest and have tea of coffee at regular intervals even if you don't actually feel tired

you can't hunt dear or bear on a motorway..
cops drive on motorways
other people drive on motorways...( they might hit you )
you can't drink while driving on a motorway
you must follow the law if you drive on a motorway
