Isofix car seats please advise?

Hi I am expecting my 3rd baby in September. I am hoping to get a bigger car than the Renault Clio that I have now. I am looking to get something like a Ford Focus. I will also be purchasing a new car seat for my baby. I am wondering if the Ford focus is compatible with the isofix fitting. Also if I get a birth to 9 month car seat that has the isofix fitting will the same fitting be able to be used for a 9 month to 4 year car seat or do I have to buy another isofix fitting for the second car seat?

It's almost an impossible question to answer because some Ford Focus (UK) were built without any isofix points so unless you can actually feel them assume they are not there. Very few cars have three Isofix points across the back, the norm is one point on each outside seat. You will not be able to "share" points which is what I think you are trying to ask. each seat needs its own pair of fittings. The only reasonable price car with three isofix across the back are the "newer" shaped 2002/3 -2008 Citroen Berlingo's. The other thing about the berlingo is you can get most prams in the back without having to fold them down.
Go and have a look at one and once you've stopped laughing see how practical they are for a family with 3 kids. Good luck for September |
