It Happened AGAIN...!?

So, not more than 20 minutes ago, I was driving my husband home from the hospital, where he gets his daily radiation treatments for his cancer.

I'm driving the speed limit, but taking the curves & bumps with care, because they make him nauseous. And, then, it happened.

Some retard in a white Ford Expedition with the logo of some team painted on his hood tries to mate with my bumper. He's like 10 inches behind me, and blowing his horn.

If I hadn't been to the right of a lane full of people driving as if there was free beer & barbecue up around the bend, I'd have stopped right there, put on my blinkers, and had a little conversation with him.

Letting him collide with me would not only have upset my husband, but might have triggered vomiting, not to mention delaying his return home.

Instead, I continued home at the speed limit (taking the turns gently), privately seething.

To all you sane people out there: what would you have done?

Arrrrggghhh! ...And, thanks.

I would have done almost the same thing except i would have slowed down to about 5 below the speed limit or i would have put my left foot on the breaks so the lights would come on because it might scare him. I am sorry that happened, I wish your husband will hope he gets better soon

Personally, I would have done what my husband tells me is the best response. Feather off the gas, so you are slowly slowing down. If the person behind you is in such a all fired up hurry, he can pass.

Some people do not have the sense God gave a goose. They think that the road is theirs and theirs alone. If you are in that much of a hurry, then leave for your destination earlier...

I am sorry that you and your husband had to endure that, I wish that there were laws for ID-10-T drivers.

I would have done the same thing you did. Let the loser take his time behind you and your husband. SCREW THAT MEAN MAN!

that really bites when people are such aggressive drivers. But there is one little trick I have used in the past to get drivers off my a**. unfortunately it only works in the daytime...simply reach over and turn on your park lights...this illuminates the tail lights and gives the allusion that you have hit the brakes...makes them back off real quick :)

I find myself going very slowly. I have nearly stopped on the expressway before when these morons tailgate. They either back off or go around, but if they are in that big of a hurry, they don't tailgate me.

Good job, I congratulate you, don't do anything hasty, you never know how the person behind you may react. Worst case scenario, he could have continued to tailgate you while you go home just to try and scare you, or maybe worst. You have better things to attend, such as your husband, not worrying about some stupid inconsiderate driver.

I really, truly think you need to look into anger management training. Considering actually getting out or creating an accident may me you are on your way to a huge outburst OR a nervous breakdown. the best thing to do at times like this is to let the person pass (if you can) and not to worry your self about the person after that.
