It seems like a mental issue?

last december me and my brother got into this awful wreck. police and ambulance was surprised we survived a wreck that was so deadly. we flew into a ditch that was 3 ft. and car was totaled out. it was a red scion tc special edition. is it an issue if i have nightmares about the wreck and when i think about it i get this dead feeling?

You're probably experiencing PTS (Post Traumatic Stress)...if you're still going thru all this, I suggest you talk to a professional who could better help you. Talk to your family doctor too.

No man it's a perfectly normal response to a traumatic event. You will probably have it on an off for quite a while possibly the rest of your life. However if it bothers you too deeply, becomes a preoccupation or disrupts your sleep you need to seek psychiatric or psychological help. Trust me I know!

Similar thing happened to me and a cousin in a Nissan 200SX which was totalled but we walked out, much to everyone's surprise. 20 years later I still have bad dreams about it and can even to this day hear the shattering glass and the bending metal. Take it from me, if you are severly traumatic about it go get some counselling, I did and it helped but I still remember through those dreams. Now, though I use those bad dreams to remind me to be carefull on the road, not push the car to the ends of its ability and to look out for idiots on the road. I know feel that the accident was meant to have happened so that I would be warned not to act like a rev-head lout again. Hope this helps, either get help or use the experience and the dreams as a learning opportunity. Perhaps even better, do both!

Post-traumatic stress disorder?

I think that a certain amount of that would be normal. You know that it could have been fatal. You hear about wrecks similar that did proove to be fatal. I think you survived for a reason and it is natural that you would think of what could have happened. My sons best friend and brother were in an accident where they were both thrown out. The brother survived with scrapes. The friend died in the hospital shortly after from injuries caused from when the steering wheel tore a main artery in his chest, just before he flew out. Neither were wearing seatbelts, both were thrown out.You were very blessed and you are imagining what "could" have been. I think the nightmares will fade. I think you are feeling the crash in your mind. I hope you feel better soon. I am glad you are alive to tell of your ordeal.

It sounds like "Post traumatic stress disorder." It is very common for people who have suffered trauma and is very treatable. Also, since you've had a close call, this would be a good time to start a relationship with God (if you haven't already). He stands at the door of your heart and knocks. If you open to Him, He will enter and dine with you.

Post-traumatic stress disorder? I think that might be the name for it. If you feel like you need it or it would help, then go get some counseling. =)

you are just simply thinking that you should not have survived that accident from the fact that it was so deadly, and seemed like you would not have made it.In the mean time try to find ways to keep your mind off the wreck unless you need to tell someone about it(which I doubt) and appreciate that you two are alive after that horrible experience.

Well, it is pretty understandable, but it is also still an issue. If you're still having frequent nightmares, it is probably a good idea to seek some sort of help.
