Yeah, those ***holes cut the locks and dragged it by their car with the pole thing down against the street last night while we were asleep. The trailer is probably long gone by now.
But should I be scared, do you think they would dare to come back even after we called the cops?

They won't come back. They just wanted to take the thing. They probably figured nobody was home or something. People always commit crimes on holidays because people are unlikely to be home, making for easy targets. |

Im sorry that you lost your trailer.
They will not come back. They would probably be too afraid to get caught. You will be fine except for having to pay for the trailer.

It is natural to be scared after your home is violated. That is what happened. They many not have broke IN TO the house, but they violated your space.
Cut locks on a gate or on the trailer???
I doubt they will come back. But keep anything of value out of sight. That's what they look for... the easy score.
If you get a replacement trailer, get one of those ball locks. It goes into the hitch and locks in place w/ it's own lock. And if you're really paranoid, you an lock the coupler w/ a pad lock and then put a chain or cable lock on the wheels (if the rims have a spot to slide it though).
I've seen people chain trailers to light poles w/ heavy chain. But that only slows determined thieves. Determined ones will find a way.... sorry to say. |
