Unless you drive a standard transmission, it's not recommended. You turn driving into using the left and right side of your brain, thus actually slowing reaction time. Try doing something with your left hand, like tapping your computer desk repeatedly, while with the right hand, only tap the desk once every 5 seconds. You'll notice that it will disrupt the rhythm of your left hand when you move your right due to your involving both sides of the brain. |

2 reasons
1 if you have a manual transmission your left foot is busy with the clutch.
2 people that use their left foot tend to keep it on the brake petal. When they do they tend to push the petal down slightly causing the brakes to stay on which causes premature wear and uses more gas. The brake lights may also stay on confusing the driver behind them. |

If you use your left for the brake, you can accidentally press both the brake and the accelerator at the same time. Using only the right foot for both pedals is supposed to make this less likely. |

Left foot braking requires a significant amount of training to be done effectively and safely and there is no good reason to do it in normal street driving. Some race car drivers use this technique but that is so they can go faster. In street driving you use the brakes to go slower. |

it takes your foot off the gas.
that and the thing about the history of standards using their left foot for the clutch, thus needing to put their right foot on the brake while the left is still depressing the clutch to keep from stalling the car |

This is really dangerous. In emergency braking situations you brain does not react very quickly, and whats mopr is if your using ur left foot, your brain can mistak your left foot fro your right, And u could accidently accelerate insted of braking. Anyone who used their left foot for anything else besides a clutch shud have their licence taken off them and banned from driving for life... Only exception for using tis method is when doing hard core 4 wheel driving |

In driver's ed I was taught not to use two feet when driving because even tapping the break will cause the break light to go on, and it is dangerous to drive with the break light on. Also, as long as the break light is on, you are using your breaks and driving while using the breaks will cause the breaks to wear out, and youll need to get new ones very quickly. |

I use my left, but I do it because I've driven standards most of my life, so I need to do something with my left. |
