More dangerous to drive drunk or high?

Which would worry you more, someone driving at .10 or soon after taking several hits of high-grade marijuana?
If you are considering contributing an answer along the lines of 'both are bad', don't waste your time. I know both are bad. I want to know what you think is worse. Additional Details Punkie must not have much experience with either substance, of if she does then only alcohol.
Not to mention, I'd say it's very possible to run into a children's hospital when drunk too lol.

Don't waste my time. I wouldn't want to be near either on a highway.
Drunk, you lose motor skills. High, you do stupid things for no reason. |

I would worry more about a drugged driver, as they have no social conscience and no regard for anybody else. Believe it or not it IS as bad as driving drunk, despite what some claim, and also, believe it or not, even smoking ordinary tobacco is a driving hazard, equivalent to .05 alcohol.
In civilised countries, drug driving gets the same penalties as drink. |

Man, you must have hitting the ganja wit Mr. John Barleycorn when you posed the question.
I'm not sure I should lower myself to your level to answer this question.
Both are illegal in the several states.
For the answerer that stated there have been no reported cannabis driving deaths -- they're there in the alcohol section. |

i think drugs more, because when your drunk, your just really stupid, but when your high you see a lot of things and you might think your flying into a cloud but your really driving into a children's hospital |

Honestly I am not sure, but I can state the facts:
I think its around 300,000-600,000 people killed every year due to alcohol related accidents.
But there have been zero cannabis related accidents, let alone any cannabis related deaths what so ever.
Even though this is true, I highly suggest that you don't drive while baked, it still counts as driving under the influence. |

I would probably say being drunk is more dangerous. Being high blurs your sense of reality. However the thing about being drunk is that it dulls your sense of judgment. What do you see most when you see drunk drivers depicted on televisions shows, or even hear about incidents involving drunk drivers? You hear accounts of erratic behavior, swerving in and out of lanes, running stop signs and stop lights, and accelerated speeds. When you are drunk and driving you completely ignore the traffic around you. When you are high, you still have some sense of judgment but you are missing the sense of reality. I myself have never been drunk or high, but I do know the facts based on what I have heard on news stories, and research. Both of these conditions are terrible, but being drunk is slightly worse. |

Someone driving drunk is worse than someone driving high.
When you are drunk, you are spinning around, for a lack of better words. You swerve, and don't have a good distance perception.
When you are high, it's all in your head. You can sober up pretty good, like if you are in an accident, you will lose your high, known as a "buzz kill."
I do not have a problem with people drinking high, but I do however have a big problem with drunk driving.
Look at the stats, which is a bigger problem?
Alcohol. |

I saw an experiement on fith gear (program on channel 5 in england).
They got a stoned guy to drive round a race track, his driving was actually better than normal. This is because when he was high he was more layed back, e.g. less likely to go over the speed limit, a little bit less concentration but not incredible bad...
Now being drunk, that is where problems happen, swerving, speeding, and more likely to cause an accident...

Booze is worst...
Stick to weed!!!
But i really dont recommend doing either when driving, you will lose your licence!
Just for the record, driving while drunk is bad, i ran a mate over but then he was the one who was wrecked and thought it would be funny to jump out of my car when i was pulling off but then if i was sobber i would probably noticed before i was half way down the road!!! lol
Story ends...
He was okay lol |

Thank you, Ryan for allowing me to answer such a question. I believe that drunk driving is extremely worse, because it severely impairs your judgement. Not just the reaction time, but also, depth perception, peripheral vision, and so on. Weed just slows ya a bit. Here's something to ponder. I have been high everyday for the past 8 years. With the exception of a few days I was out of weed. I have had no accidents, and the only thing on my record is a speeding ticket I got when I was delivering pizza, not high. Ol Punkie over there apparently has watched too many tv shows about smoking pot portrayed by people who dont smoke pot, because it does mot cause hallucinations. Besides, children's hospitals should be designed to take the hit, anyway, right? |
