why dont moths sort out there sleep patterns?if they love light so much why do they wait till its dark????????????????? it'd be far easier to sleep at night like us normals? lol who agrees? disagrees? every answer recieves a philips torch. ;o)

Most moths are nocturnal appearing at dusk when there are less preditors.
Moths are thought to use the light of the moon to navigate their way through their habitat, they try to keep the moon on one side while they fly in a reasonably straight line if a artificial light is in their path, they get confused and then try to use this to navigate by...thus leading to the moth flying round and round in ever-decreasing cirlcles, until they reach the light source and thus being zapped...
Sounds like a few men I know coming home from the pub!... lol ...

They use the moon for navigation however they cant figure out the difference between the moon and a light bulb, or any form of lighting for that matter
I have tried to explain it to them on numerous occasions however I grow tired of doing so |

If I were you I would keep your phillips torch because it sounds like your candle is getting rather dim old chum moths hone in on light patterns as they have little or no eyesight. |
