You already know my opinion, I believe. The motorcycle of course. Most of the people who answered "car" have never been on one. I am not an organ donor. Car wrecks kill/maim more people than motorcycles ever have. As far as how smart we all are, well............. It is a proven fact that more people are cut using a dull knife. A sharp one cuts what it's supposed to. A dull one slips.
Opinions or facts, take your pick. They are usually at opposite ends of the spectrum. I am knowledgable about and skilled with everything I own. And I rode in the sleet and freezing rain today. Age, my eye. |

I own both so i am able to give an honest opinion !
Motorbike`s are far safer than a lot of people think , every year you hear of someone being killed on a motorbike but i would say only a small percentage ( about 15% ) of them killed are actually rider fault !
the amount of time i have near misses by car driver`s not paying attention are to many i dare to remember , we have to put up with irresponsible farmer`s who herd their cattle through the country road`s not bothering about all the horse / cow s hit all over the road`s ( do they get fined for not picking this up ) or the idiot resident`s spreading gravel on the bend`s on country road`s so rider`s have difficulty controlling their machines or the .......i could go on & on but it`s getting late ,
My honest opinion is a motorbike IF other people were a little more considerate to us on the road`s ! |

As with anything It's up to the operator of the vehicle and not the vehicle itself.
Way too many answers are from people that have NEVER RIDDEN A MOTORCYCLE, so how valid are their answers?
Anyone with a pulse and two brain cells can drive a car (what's that say about the ones that can't?), but on a motorcycle YOU are part of the vehicle and how it handles. A lot of people don't understand that, and if you don't have the coordination and the patience to learn the proper way to ride you are just a squid.
For example, I GUARANTEE that I am less likely to be killed on my motorcycle than some car-load of teenagers all text-ing each other. I know how to operate my vehicle, I know my abilities, I wear FULL GEAR (not just a helmet), and I pay attention to my surroundings. |

cars. Idiots in cars run over motorcycles. |

Im biased here as I have never rode a motorbike so I can't answer that question without first riding a motorbike. |

You are 3 times more likely to be killed on a Bike compared to a car.
However; I ride 80-100 miles per day in LA traffic,(worst in the country), and I have never been in an accident in the 6 years I've been doing it. It depends greatly on who is driving/riding |

I thinking walking would be safer. |

I think the question is answered.
At the college I once worked (800 students) we lost one student a year because of motorcycle accidents. At any point in time there would be three others walking around on crutches becasue of a motorcycle accident.
Then again, not many could afford cars. |

I'll go with car but it would be nice to ride a bike once in awhile |

It depends on what context. If I was on foot I would rather be hit by a motorbike, but if I was in a crash between to vehicles I would rather be in a car. |

in a nutshell both, cars for practicality and motorbikes for fun in fine weather!! bikes are safe its the other idiots on the roads!! have toured all over europe,uk,ireland, scotland and wales there aint no better way of seeing the world.

to put it in to context. motor bikes total roughly 2% of the traffic total but 31% of all fatal road traffic accidents. Does that answer your question |

cars as Ive come off a motorbike before and it scared the life out of me. |

depends on how you mean really a car is only safe when the moron who owns it is sat in doors. i have a car and a gsxr 1000 and i find on the bike you can get out of touble as you see it coming. in wiltshire last yr there was 534 accidents 9 were bikes.
cars are no safer then bikes in my opinion its down to whos in control. cars do more damage. i find those that moan about bikes are scared of them with out really knowing what they are like.my bike can stop quicker then most cars , i can pick an escape route if needed to avoid collision a car has no chance.
so called experts who dont ride dont know FA about bikes. |

definately cars motorbikes are much more dangerous! |

It an age thing, Bokes are much safer when ridden aggressively and flamboyantly by young people than cars but the safety does not improve as speed reduces, in fact a stationary motorbike is completely unstable, cars however are completely stable at rest but become unstable at high speed unless draggy spoilers which in any case prevent high speed are fitted, and again over 30 the average guy no longer has the reactions to ride a bike |

I really Love the freedom of movement that I get on a bile but for safty cars are far better, For on a bike You are the only body |

Cars are safer. It does not matter if there were no cars on the road, either. Solo wrecks are not uncommon on bikes, because riders hit curbs, wet patches, gravel, sand, each other, or they drive off the road because they think they can take curves much faster than they really can. |

Cars are safer of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
You can't fall off a car, well not normally, anyway when you drive it!
You're teasing us (to get lots of answers?)!
Of course cars are mainly safer,
but hey motorbikes are just so ******* class, have you ridden one? You will have to try one, or at least try pillion? It's amazing to ride any bike well! I have ridden and raced off-road motorbikes as well as road bikes and have toured to. Bikes are magic the (brisker) / better you ride them usually means the more fun you'll have. But if ridden too tamely it is then that you'll get chewed up or splatted, usually by some car driver.
Bikes are awesome there is nought better for me than a spin on one. But bikes are way more dangerous like a legal weapon, but so is a sharp knife and / however, if used correctly both will do what they are meant to do very well, the difference is you usually don't get knocked or fall off your sharp knife.
Bye........
PS get a bike, get a bike, get a bike and another one! |

Cars, for sure.
Motorcycles leave the occupant too open. If you're in a car and get hit by another, you have at least some protection. On a bike, well, I really don't think leather/denim is a great protector against metal travelling at speed.
Yes, motorcyclists are known as Organ Donors in hospitals.
I don't recall the exact story but apparently someone asked a doctor when it was likely they'd be getting a new donor organ, the doctor replied "Well, it's raining so it shouldn't be too long." |

I have both, but a car is safer. Many drivers just don't see the motorcycle. And guess who wins?
Where I live, there are three or four accidents involving motorcycles every day, with serious injuries or fatalities. Also, many bikers are careless and do reckless things like white-lining where they shouldn't. |
