My dad teaching my how to drive?

Usually when your parents teach you how to drive, then how long does it usually take? Like most people start off in an empty parking lot and from their when they are ready the parents take them to drive in small streets. I want to know How would you know that you are ready to take it to the streets with actually cars driving and not in an empty parking lot?

If the state allows parent taught driver's ed, your parents must pick up a training packet that will outline the exact amount of hours that is required to qualify you for attending the course.
If you parents are just taking you out to a parking lot to learn the basics, that does not qualify & if you want your license before you are 18, then you MUST attend & pass a state approved driver's ed course. |

Please find someone else to teach you.
If you love your dad and of course you do, please don't let him teach you.
Parents are not good driving teachers because, not always, but often, they expect too much too quick of you because they think you can do wonders and they become very impatient indeed.
Parents as driving teachers grow horns and gnarled expressions when you make a boo-boo. Because they are so familiar with you, they can shout at you whereas a teacher who doesn't really know you will be much more patient.
With respect, I am serious about this. It can cause family upsets, so better not to risk it. |

As soon as you are confident in your self to go out on to the streets.
That's how long it takes.
Take the lessons from your dad & also take drivers ed in school. |

It depends on you and how well you are willing to listen to your dad and drive by the rules of the road..........it could take a couple of weeks or many months....... |
