And she finds that funny? I can't believe a mother would do that. I'm sorry you had to go through that and I am glad your daughter is OK. I am glad to see you have left her. I'm not sure if she will get a prison sentence but she will get heavily fined and banned from driving. If I were you, I'd use this to prove to the judge she is an unfit mother so you can get custody of your daughter. It might be a little harsh but she's clearly better off staying with you. |

Well that's a felony for child endangerment, she'll lose her license, probably have to take alcohol courses, and have quite the hefty fine. She's a flipping idiot. |

I'm not sure of the punishment but you need a hug so *HUG*
Hopefully they will see she is a danger to the child and give her something moderatly severe? |

It ought to be execution. |

I'm not sure, she will lose her license for definate. Personally I think she should get jailed, she sounds like a really irresponsible and careless person. If she is willing to put her young daughters life at risk, as well as the lives of other road users and pedestrians, then I don't think she should be allowed access to the child. She obviously doesn't care about them. |

Don't know about actual law but what she should get in my opinion is
- loss of custody (she obviously doesn't care whether her child could get hurt)
- major penalty to be paid into a fund for your daughter when she's an adult
- losing her licence for at least one year
and that's minimum! God, and I thought my dad was bad! |

She was drink driving and finds it funny!! I would see a solicitor and apply for sole custody. |

A one year disqualification from driving is pretty much the starting point for drink driving sentencing. A few hundred quid fine too. |

It depends on what she is being charged with. Usually a DWI is a misdemeanor charge the first time but if they add child endangerment etc then she could see some jail time. Justice would be for you to take the child away so she is safe. |

if someone did that with my child/children in the car they would be laughing on the other side of their face when I caught hold of them. |

A disqualification is mandatory for this offence, minimum of one year. It is possible for her to be sent to prison or be given a large fine as well, but this may depend on the seriousness of the particular facts of the case. Certainly a jail term is often given if it is not a first offence, but this is at the discretion of the courts. When her disqualification period is over, she will have to take an extended driving test to get her license back, and will then face a steep increase in her isurance premiums. |

I totally understand your concerns as drink driving is totally unacceptable. It depends what part of the country/world you live in. If she is a first time offender she will probably just get her licence taken off her and a fine.

Depends what part of the country it is and what your ex says in court,
If she says shes really sorry and that she made a stupid mistake , Then i think the best out come she would get is say , 1 Year Ban and £100 Fine , If she doesnt work then she wont get fined at all ! ....................................
Hope this helps , But its nothing to worry about , she not going to prision or anything like that............
Just let her know that if she did happen to kill someone when drunk she would have been looking at 5 years in Prsion, this might make her think twice next time, and the fact she had children in the back is not a funny matter.............. |
