My friends breaks went out and we almost got into an accident...should she tell her mom?

she should tell her mom. at least about the problem with the brakes. maybe not about the near accident. as a mom though i would like to know about the near accident and about the brakes. tell your friend next time to drive the speed limit. if she had been given a speeding ticket believe me her mom would have found out about it.

Obviously it stopped. If you don't tell her mom that there may be an issue with the BRAKES and if you don't tell your friend to slow down, people will read about you in the obituaries.

Also, it is HER car no one else in her family drives it. I think part of the reason she doesn't want to tell is because she is suicidal and she might want the brakes to fail again :/------------
Are YOU suicidal too or do you just have some sort of death wish? Obviously she cares NOTHING about YOU and I think this whole question was crap now. What happened was she pretended the brakes went out to scare you and what YOU should do is tell her mom her daughter is a psycho and stop being friends with her.

I would tell her... that is unless she wants to have a wreck. If the brakes failed once, they will do it again

I wouldn't ride with her till she gets her brakes fixed... so yes she should tell her mom about the bad brakes... and if she's suicidal bring that up to her mother yourself or a school counselor or something... Help your friend!!!!!!

Are you for real?. Is she so selfish that she would rather have her mother or someone else have an accident due to defective breaks just so that she can avoid a minor conflict?.

Get real. Even if it is only her car what about her hitting a pedestrian, or killing someone else. I don't care if she is suicidal. She could kill someone else through her own stupidity. TELL HER TO GET THE BRAKES FIXED OR GIVE UP DRIVING.

YES she should tell her mother! This is a very dangerous situation that needs to be taken care of, and her mother wil be able to help her get her brakes fixed.

*edit* I'm sorry that your friend is having those kinds of feelings, but she doesn't have the right to put other people(i.e. passengers in her car, other motorists) in danger.

It would do more good if you help her get her brakes fixed!
I may be silly but it is my opinion that a solution is better then causing more problems.
So it is clear that fixing the brakes is a solution.
What will telling her mother fix?
Or will it just mean neither of you will have a way to go any where?
