My parents don't like my driving?

My son thought he could handle driving my car, and he drove too fast in it. Last September he crashed it going too fast around a corner. Fortunately, the car was the only thing that needed to be replaced. You can replace a car, you can't replace you. SLOW DOWN!!! Trust me, you may think your parents are being pains in the ***, but they are trying to give you the experience of many more years of driving than you have, I'm sure. My son will be paying 6 years of higher insurance premiums for his being a fast driver.

When your parents are in the car, cool it. They just don't want you to develop bad habits an end up as an accident statistic. You can speed up a bit when they are not around. Ideally of course, you want to drive safely all the time. Be smart.

Just follow the law. If the speed limit is 35 then do 35. Let others overtake you. If you want to do more then try to get your local council to put up speed cameras. It is in their interest since they can raise more cash from speeding fines.

Tailgating's stupid and dangerous. Don't do it.

On the speed limit note, it's okay to get passed every once in a while. I'll keep up with the flow as best I can, but there's no reason to be the fastest thing on the road.

You don't say how old you are or if the car is yours or theirs.

If you are young and its their car, do as they say. They are trying to teach you what is right. On your driver's test , you will br docked for following too close and for speeding.

If you are older and its your car, it would still be respectful to honour their wishes as they ride with you, but on your own, you can and will do as you please.

Hey man my parents are the same way even my dad since he is a ex cop. When i drive my chevy truck, i try my best not to tail gate the other guy cuz i need a longer stopping distance. I usually follow the speed limit around town cuz the cops be everywhere esp the city. Usually on the highways and interstate i do 60-65. But dude don't follow the other guys or you end up in the morgue.

You want to practise what is stated in the highway code.
If a speed limit is 35, then stick to that. Of course people travel above the stipulated speed limit, but that is a gamble and one day, they would be caught.
Son, keep your nose clean whilst you are young for you have some long and good times ahead of you. Why do you want to spoil it for yourself and/or even end the fun abruptly before the real end, when you can stay law abiding and have a whale of a good time in life.
Advise your friends not to drive too fast, because going from points "A" to "B" takes almost the same time in London if you travel above the speed limit or not, so chill out and enjoy your driving. Besides, life is too short already as it is, so chill my son and have a long and a good life.

WHY DON'T YOU JUST FOLLOW THE RULES OF THE ROAD AND LISTEN TO YOUR PARENTS AS WELL.

IF EVERYONE ELSE IS DRIVING FASTER THAN THE SPEED LIMIT, THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU HAVE TO.

DRIVE CORRECTLY AND JUST MAYBE THE LIFE THAT YOU SAVE MAY BE YOUR OWN.
