My wife and I are expecting triplets and need to know if three car seats fit into the back seat of a SUV truck

DEpending on the SUV truck I would say they would, but you may need a third row to work it all out...

It wiil work if it has to. But an suv with third row seating is great. because you never know when you need to have a couple of extra seats and then there's the grocery dilema. It goes on and on.With 3 kids you need room.

nope, better get a van, plus, it will be tight getting in and out, you will want more room.

They may just barely fit..... but I don't think so. Especially the infant ones, because of the handles that are on them. Also getting the middle one out will be VERY tricky!

You'll have to ask the dealer for each of the car comapnie sunder consideration. Look at the HOnda CRV, Honda Pilot, and Toyota RAV4. All are top-rated, very safe & reliable. Stay away from the GM Trailblazer/Envoy series.

Full size SUV (3 Seats) Yes. Full Size 4-Door Truck yes but a snug fit. Mid size SUV No sorry just won't work. The seats are too close together to get the belts even half way easily buckled. My suggestion A Tahoe Or Suburban. You can get 2 rows of seating besides the drivers and have room in the back for groceries and you will need the room for that. :) That way as the kids grow you will still have plenty of room for extra stuff and friends. Also consider a mini Van I have drove them and that will be my next vehicle comfy to drive good gas mileage and plenty of room And I only have one Child Congratulations and Good Luck.

It would depend on the SUV. I have several friends who went out to buy a new car because 3 car seats could not fit. One was able to fit 2 normal car seats in her SUV and 1 baby car seat in her old SUV. But they had to buy another car as soon as the baby needed a regular car seat. Go to the store and measure the 3 car seats of you choice and then see how large most SUV's backseats are, that should give you a start and rule out many models.

I have an 2005 Avalanche and I am pretty positive that 3 seats would fit in the back of it...I just had one in there yesterday and there is tons of room.

You need to know what the size of the car seats are and measure the seats. They will have to be the car seats that face the back of the car until they get older. Do you have extra seating in your vehicle and all with seat belts.? I ask because you must secure the car seats with the seat belt for their safety and it's the law. I would need more info of what type of seating your SUV has or if they don't have an extra seat belt, you will have to have one installed. I am very happy for you both but I know how much work there is. I am a mother of grown twins and then I had a daughter two years later. I wish you both the best and if help is offered, take it.

As long as the back seat is wide enough to accomodate all three seats, here is what you could do:
Most cars come with two sets of carseat anchor points in the back seat. You could use the inner anchor point from each set, and anchor the carseat base in the middle of the back seat (this is what we do with our daughter because we like having her in the middle). Then use the rear seatbelts to secure the other two seats (without the carseat base). This should work - good luck!

My brothers are triplets (they're 2) my sisters are twins (they're 2 months) my brother is 4, my sisters are 10 and 8 and I'm 13. 9 kids + 2 parents = big van!

We have a mini van (Uplander) and a 15 seater van. The triplets fit comfortably in my friends SUV, but....

When going on a trip, it's not the seats you need to worry about: it's the cargo. 3 playpens, 5 suitcases (atleast), sleeping bags etc. When they're 3, you may want to switch to a van, due to the cargo and the fact they won't want to sit all squished. Consider an SUV that has a third row of seating, so they can sit apart during a short trip, but they can fit together during a long trip.

A truck... they probably will, it just may be a bit uncomfortable. Just remember: safety first!!!!!!!!

Depends upon what SUV and what car seats. Most of the time with SUVs you can find a way to get 3 seats - but they won't necessarily be the cheapest seats.

The narrowest car seat around is a Sunshine Kids Radian65/Radian80 (2 seats, but they are exactly the same - just one tested to 65lbs, one to 80lbs, and the 80lbs version includes extra newborn padding. And the Radian's low bottom slots (8" or so) mean it can fit newborns very well, usually. The Radian65 goes from birth to 65lbs, and is narrow. The only problem you may run into is if your car has forward of the bight seatbelts, or if there is not enough for it to be rear facing. Because the seat aims to last kids so long (to age 6 or 7) the shell is quite tall, and takes up a lot of room rear facing. One CPST said she couldn't fit it rear facing in her Ford Escape, though she could in her Odyssey.

If at all possible, I would consider trading in for a 3 row sUV or van. Doesn't have to be new - but it will be a cramped ride, especially once you figure in the stuff you have to tote around for 3 babies! And it will get worse as they get older. It would probably be difficult to fit 3 infant carriers across one row. Definitely take your car to BAbies R Us and try some out, they also have a multiples discount.

If money is at all an issue - the Radian may be a great solution, b/c then you don't have to shell out money for 3 carriers that will be otugrown in 5-8 months, and then buy 3 convertible seats. Just get the Radians and you're set to booster age!

A suv is not a truck. You will probably have to trade in your truck/suv (since you don't know what you drive) and get a mini van. You will be the coolest guy in town a shiney new minivan, and three cute babies.
