In NJ, do the boxes attached to sign posts that say YOUR SPEED, and then show the speed you're going at have cameras in them that can issue you tickets? i was driving past one, and a little flashing light went off. nothing big like a camera flash. but still a flashing light.
also. what happens if i get a ticket? is the ticket for the person who was driving or owns the car? how does this affect insurance? driving record?
I think i was going about 25 in a 15 hour zone
also... it was a residential street. that i thought was a 25 mile hour zone. i would say about 98% of residential streets in NJ are 25 mph. but this street was 15 mph. and i wasn't aware, until i saw the flashing light.

Those lights are there to make you aware that you are exceeding the speed limit and they do not typically have cameras incorporated into them. The light is to attract your attention to the fact that you were exceeding the limit and they are usually set to only illuminate when you are going 3-5 mph over the posted limit. They are typically used in areas where speeding is common or areas, like the one you drove through, that have abnormally lower speed limits. |

It may be nothing. All you can do is wait fro about a week or 2. You should always pay attention to the speed limit. I mean did you think the people you flew by were just on a slow Sunday drive. |

in arizona those don't usually have cameras wit them but that usually means there is a camera near by.
if u get a ticket with a camera its for the owner of the car. the owner can give up ur name and u can receive the ticket. depending on ur speed this can hurt ur insurance but if its ur first offense it shouldn't change much. there are schools u can go to and it will b expunged from ur driving record. criminal speeding is 20 miles over the speed limit so don't worry to much. if u do get a ticket u will appear in court and the judge will give u options for school or pay the fine.
but that's in arizona it could b different where ur at. i just thought id help wit what i know out here |
