Name a few fire safety tips?

I need a few fire safety tips. Please not stupid ones (please). I need other ones besides "stop, drop and roll". 10 points!!

Make sure all family members know what to do in the event of a fire. Draw a floor plan with at least two ways of escaping every room. Make a drawing for each floor. Dimensions do not need to be correct. Make sure the plan shows important details: stairs, hallways and windows that can be used as fire escape routes.

Test windows and doors—do they open easy enough? Are they wide enough. Or tall enough?

Choose a safe meeting place outside the house.

Practice alerting other members. It is a good idea to keep a bell and flashlight in each bedroom.

Prevention is the name of the game. Best thing is to store all household chemicals and cleaners outside in a locked metal cabinet.

Have a couple of 2-lb Class B fire extinguishers strategically located. Don't forget that good old baking soda straight out of the box is an excellent suppressant.

Any electrical outlets that don't securely hold a plug very good anymore should be replaced. Check your outlets and make sure that the surge suppressor strips are not overloaded.

Call the local fire dept and ask if they can come out and do safety inspection on your home. Definitely worth it.
