Hi this is Derrick from Maine of U.S. Recently I received traffic ticket for violating the traffic rules. I need information about State Approved Traffic School Course in Maine to dismiss traffic ticket and even to learn safety driving tips.

Hello Derrick,

There are very few online course providers are offering the Maine Defensive driving courses. Following is the one available course and approved by the "Maine Bureau of Highway Safety".

>> Maine Risk Awareness Course - $40.00
This Traffic school course will allow you to receive a 3-point reduction on your driving record. And also Drivers who are 55 years of age or older can qualify for an insurance discount by taking this course (Public Law 2001, Chapter 130).

By completing this course you can dismiss the traffic ticket.

Contact the clerk of the court of the municipality where your summons/citation was issued. If this is your first offense, the judge/prosecutor may offer this option - plead guilty but upon succesful completion, the charges will be dismissed. The clerk's officeshould maintain a list of approved classes, some of which may be available on line.

You may also want to contact the DA office and check that they will offer you this deal. Good luck.

If you go to an online traffic school...you will be able to see if it is approved in your County/State. This site is approved nationally.
