OSHA Standards Violation?

I feel that my employer is violating my worker rights. I will explain in detail.

My Title is "Car Door Unlocking Technician" CDU Tech for short....

A brief description of that job is
Unlock cars.
Jump Start Cars
Change Tires
Deliver Gas

The Violation is mainly related to tire changes but branches out to all areas for the most part.

As you may know when you have a flat tire you cant always make it to a safe place. Some times you cant even get to the shoulder on the interstate.

We work DAILY on the Interstates where traffic is way over 55 MPH (the speed at which class 3 is manditory)

There are Requirements of ANSI OSHA NTSA and so on that require certain equipment that we to not receive or that is HORRIBLY inefficient.

Since we work on the interstate we should have an ANSI Class 3 compliant vest or jacket and should have some sort of light other than hazard lights warning other drivers of our presence.

I was issued neither. I purchase a 200 Dollar Class 3 Jacket and Warning lights in the amount of about 300 Dollars.
They recently gave me a class 2 vest which is really a joke unless you are standing directly in front of traffic (no side visibility)
My company is hinting displeasure with my requests for this gear and if fired i plan on sueing them. Am I correct in my above statments?

Please answer seriously.

Am I correct in stating that they should issue these items and would I be wrong for suing them for cost and damages if fired as a result of this situation.

Chances are your state has a department similar to OSHA, that might react faster to your complaint. Its regulations will likely similar or identical to OSHA's.

You have every right about what you describe per safety, and osha regulations. Still hope you won't get fired for their stupidity on that part though.
