The car was parked next to me, I misjudged the turning radius, and nudged the car beside me, i didnt see noticable damage so i proceeded to leave..I was awoke a day and a half later at 5 am by a local cop, said he's charging me with fleeing the scene of an accident adn failure to report an accident...For something so minor, what will happen? I have no idea it's not that big of a deal But I need to know what will happen cuz i have no money~!!!!!

I live in Ohio and fleeing is punishable by 6 months in jail and I believe a $1000 fine. This is the max. If its your 1st offense probably $250,, 6 points and probation. Hopefully u had insurance so they can fix the other car. Remember..cameras are everywhere. |

Well, there are two things that can happen. The first is that you will be fined for this act. So since you say you have no money you should find someone that can give you some or come up with it quickly. Secondly, you could be jailed because fleeing the scene of an accident especially if you are involved in an accident is a felony, and that is punishable by jail time. It also depends on how old you are. If you are a minor then you won't be charged as far as jail time, but your parents will assume the fine or whoever you live with. But if you are an adult then all of the burden is on you. |
