i dont believe it's a law. if it was, im amazed i've never been caught & i never heard of it. maybe it's just your state or the cop that pulled you over was mistaken. |

its not in my city/state where do you live? I would have to say only because for safety reasons. like you are cutting across traffic and because if you are rushing across traffic then maybe you might not be able to stop in time to be able to dodge the fuel pump? I dont know I know that would be a dumb law though good thing we dont have it around here in wisconsin |

It's not against the law in California.
It IS illegal to make a left turn across a double, double yellow line, or across a median strip. |

not all gas stations. the majority require crossing a single or double solid line. it is not the turn that is illegal in all gas stations. it is crossing the solid line. solid line means no passing, no turn. if the street has legal left turn lines on pavement then it is okay. most gas stations do not have this. convince stores gas station combined do have left turn lane. just watch pavement, that is the easiest. or watch out for cop, then just do it. getting the finger, or horn honk . no biggie. 2 am. cops don't care . |
