Older drivers?

Why do younger drivers always think that they can drive just because they can go fast. If they cared to compare their insurance with mine at £158.00 annually for a 2.5 Ltr car they would realise that there is a problem with the way they drive. Additional Details to little w. I do not wear a hat but I have a nodding dog in the back window.

I was a tearaway driver when I first passed 13 years ago and I cringe at some of the manoeuvres I've done, but I only had 1 accident after 6 years (bodywork damage only) and none since. But I always knew my limits and the capabilities of the car I was driving, whereas younger drivers today think ABS and fat tyres will get them out of trouble, even in the wet.
And we now more than ever live in a throw away society, so the thinking must be, "Oh well, Mum and Dad will buy me another if I crash this one". |

So You want these young drivers, probably with zero no claims, to compare the insurance price of some old fart with 40 years no claims? I'll leave You to think about that. |

You know, it is funny the remarks about hats, because, if you actually open your eyes, young people, you will see it is mostly young people wearing hats, usually ball caps, when they drive, shop, eat, go bowing, go to the movies, pretty much everywhere, and a lot of them think it is cool to wear the caps backward, to boot.
Bottom line, the average young driver pays more for insurance because he/she is not proven to be a good driver, and some, of course, never are good. |

Not all young drivers are the same. Yes you do get some that drive fast etc, but i am learning at the minute and i consider myself to be a safe driver, i would never break the law and speed, its just not worth it. Don't tare everyone with the same brush. |

Rude, what a loaded question. You're old and stereotyping all the youngsters these days. Not all of them think they can drive and not all of them drive fast. From my years of experience in the road it is the older drivers that think that they drive like an expert. Not only do they run red lights, they also do many traffic violations turning without signals and they too speed a lot. Insurance rates are higher because insurance company wants business, so what if they wicked the statstics so they can make more money and dumb ppl that likes to brag can say they get lower rates? In the real world, people sell whatever they can with the higherest price possible as long as they can back it up. Someone's too much of a dim wit to see the bigger picture. I suggest you to look at urself in the mirror before causing another accident in the streets by examining your slow reflexes and causing another accident again. |

Sterotype answer:
Younger drivers: Drive too fast - going way over speed limits and show off.
Older drivers: Go way below speed limit especially on Motorway's doing 45mph - too dangerous. |

older drivers can be accident causers too by going too slow, especially on the motorway and sitting in the middle lane!.if all drivers stuck to the speed limit and had motorway lessons none of these accidents would happen.my dad in law is a bad driver he always drives 10 miles per hour LESS than the speed limit and this infuriates me as a passenger!.he thinks hes driving safe but there is a q of traffic behind him trying to over take! |
