Find answers to your legal question.

On an 18 wheeler truck, what is the bed of the truck usually made of?

Are the beds made up of aluminum typically, steel typically or a combination or some other material? Is there one type of material that MOST 18 wheeler truck beds are made of?

I would say steel. Aluminum probably wouldnt be quite as sturdy.

Well the truck doesn't have a bed of its own. Rather they pull trailers. The there are a variety of trailers on the roads. some of the common trailers are flatbed, van, refrigerated, and tanker.

Generally, the frames of these are made of steel, aluminum, or a similar material. much of the surface material of vans and flatbed trailers will be oak wood planks. Oak is a good material because freight is often secured with nailed-down lumber or wood. Refrigerated trailer floors are usually an aluminum alloy. Tankers may be aluminum, stainless steel, or another metal depending on the specific freight to be hauled.

Most of the trailers I have been around are standard van type trailers. By that I mean not refrigerated. They haul furniture and other dry good. Most of them had wooden floors. Typically oak.
