A good way to do it is to take classes in a classroom and then get hands on training with a good instructor. I learned how to drive heavy equipment from the folks at NDOR in NE and then bought a bucket truck from http://www.i80equipment.com/ and have been made pretty good money from it since i was 17. The classroom is way better than online.

If you need to save money and have a busy schedule, i'd say online.
But, if money is no object, and you are more social, i'd say classroom.
