PARKING TICKET!!! please help?

I just got a £60 parking ticket even though i had paid and got a valid ticket and the time wasn't up! i parked in a car park which was completely full so i found a parking spot next to another car, which didn't have the white box round or any markings, and i got a ticket. I was not blocking any right of way, or blocking people from coming in or out of the car park etc. Please help is this legal. Their was no signs on the walls, ground or parking machine to say you weren't allowed to NOT park in a box!!! OR OUTSIDE THE BOX ETC... please help,

The depth of cluelessness here continues to amaze me.

You say yourself that you parked outside of a parking space. That's your clue that you were parked illegally. The white lines defining spaces ARE YOUR SIGNS.

Yes, if you were parked in a non marked space, you got a legitimate ticket. You wouldn't need a sign to tell you things that are obvious.

i no it doesn't seem fair but to them you were parked illegally am afraid you will just have to pay it...........

unfortunately in a private car park or a council owned one the parking bays have to be clearly marked... if you were not in the parking bay then you get a ticket... fighting it is futile im afraid.......

check the sign and the machine, if it says as part of the conditions that all vehicles ,ust be parked in the marked bays, then it will be easier to just pay up

Your only recourse...call the court where the ticket is assigned to......tell the clerk you want to see the judge or magistrate to protest the ticket.....explain what you said above....be polite and not nasty toward any cop or the court......ask politely for the judge to dismiss the ticket or lower the fine...it can be done!!!!!

Depends on the laws in the location. If being in a box is required, then you were in violation.

Consider going after the car park manager. They should never have taken your payment if they could not provide a legal parking space to you, the implicet agreement is that providing you a space is the service for which you are charged. If there were no available spaces, they should never have allowed entry.

You will possibly have to pay up! However, send them a photocopy of your parking ticket and ask them to re-imburse you with the amount paid. They took money from you and did not provide you with a service. Get your money back.....out of principle!
