I love these cars and really would die for one!! not quite.
But they are apparently not safe and i would like to know what you think. How many people have crashed in them??
What do you think about them??
Please help.

Well, what do you mean by safe?
If its about having a collision, by todays standards the beetle would not hold up very well in a crash. You have to remember the beetle safety was probably good for its day, but as the years pass cars get faster and stronger. You cant really do much about this.
On the other hand if your talking about the mechanicals, like the brakes failing. That depends on how the car was taken care off and the parts age.
The best thing you can do is to make sure you buy a car which has no rust and all mechanical are sound. |

Any car is no safer than a driver. They are manoeuvrable, good on gas, and loads of fun to drive. They have no airbags, ABS, power brakes, power steering, or traction control. They are easy to tune-up if you know how to synchronize dual carburetors, they are a son-of-a-gun to keep running well if you don't. They have little heat from the heat exchanger on an air-cooled engine, so, if you are in winter country you need the optional gas-fired heater. However, in snow country, the rear engine over rear wheel drive gives excellent traction.
Most of them are manual transmission. The later ones with automatic aren't as much fun, avoid them, the automatic was not a full auto like the modern car.
They haven't been made in many years. An old Beetle in prime condition will sell for more than it sold for new. The corner garage can't do much service in one, you either have to go to a dealership, or a garage specializing in European cars. |

VW Beetles are very safe. The caravan type could be dangerous in frontal colision if the spare wheel is mounted on the front. |

I am a fun of WV Club...
I preffer other brands...but I love this Beatle new model...to...look at.
I don't know the statistics of crashes...but I thing any car depends on the driver...it's not the car who drives the driver...whatever brand of the car...
I reformulate the question: HOW th Beatle driver shoul be. branded...for the car and him/her to be SAFE and ALIVE...on all roads, inbetween all cars...
+ the passagers...
BABY ON BOARD ! should be on every car...for the all drivers to pay ALL ATTENTION to...like to their own..as care and LOVE for a Babby...safe...home...and on all roads in LIFE |
