If you have the correct kind of DOG, no need to worry.
Get one that barks LOUDLY. No normal intruder will come into a house with a barking dog.
Past that, if you get someone who will come into a house with a dog, you better thave something WAY BETTER than rock salt in your shotgun. |

We have the dog as the early warning system. For those who don't heed the dog, I have more permanent solutions.
Rock salt? You want a lawsuit against you? I load the 12 gauge with slugs, that way only one version of the incident will ever be told. |

I do have all 5 of them.
The DOG is the first line of defense. She can hear anybody before they even get close to the house and start barking, which kind of reduces the need for the other four.
P.S. You should also have a fire extinguisher. It can not only put out a fire, but be used to spray an intruder in the face, and/or hit them with it.

security system, but thats only as good as the closest police unit. security systems can also alert fire departments for fire alarms or CO alarms so alarm systems are always a plus. #6 would be to lock all doors and windows. |
