Parallel parking for a road test?

Parallel parking for a road test?

I'm taking my road test on Wednesday and I can do all basic driving stuff- turns, stops, changing lanes, etc, and three point turns, but my parallel parking is very shaky. Sometimes when practicing I'll start a park and do it perfectly, but plenty of other times I just don't get it right. Either I get too close to the back of the car with the front of my car and can't keep backing into the space because I'd hit the car. Other times my tire gets "wedged" between the curb and I can't keep going into the car (doesn't hit the cub because I'm usually going very slow while parking, barely taps it, but just ruins the park pretty much).

I'm still practicing A LOT in preparation for this, and would love any tips people have. Also, hypothetically speaking, if the stuff I mentioned above happens and I can't successfully complete the park does that mean that I would fail the road test even if everything else was good? Would I be able to redo it? Or would it be points off and/or failure?

Well the answer is yes, you will fail the test if you do not complete the parking exercise. The whole purpose of the test is not to hit any objects and to prove to the test instructor that you can drive safely and make all of the movements properly. If you hit any objects such as the cone or the curb, then you fail automatically. You must complete the test in its fullness without making any mistakes. Time isn't that much of a factor. The important thing is to do the maneuver correctly without bumping anything. In the real world its the same way. You can cause an accident if you hit someone's car or cause damage to your own car if you hit the curb. That is the purpose of the test. In the real world there is no room for error that is why the test is so strict on the amount of mistakes you can have. Basically you must be flawless. But if you continue to practice days before the test then you should do fine, just take your time and relax.
