Parking in front of someone's house for 5 days straight without moving?

I live in Monterey Park, California. So if you know about the Monterey Park rules, that would be awesome!
Anyways, so there's this car in front of my house that's really getting to my nerves. The car parks there for about 5-6 days without ever moving. The person lives about 3 or 4 houses / apartments away. They park across the street for about 5 days and when the street sweeping day comes, they park in front of my house for 5-6 days. It's directly in front of my house, although there are other places they can park. they don't. I don't mind them parking there for a few hours, even a day or so but THE PROBLEM IS THAT THEY DON'T MOVE THE CAR FOR 5-6 DAYS STRAIGHT !
CAN I PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT ? LEGAL WISE.
Can I write a letter to the city ? Or can I do something about it ?

I KNOW IT'S A PUBLIC STREET BUT I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF PARKING THERE FOR A FEW DAYS STRAIGHT IS OKAY OR I CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

YOU can't tow it away, but the city can. You can try reporting the vehicle to your local parking control people. They may or may not be the police department. Try looking up "code enforcement" or some variation of that in the phone book.
The problem is, they may or may not decide to take action. In many communities, they do periodic "sweeps" of certain neighborhoods, issuing citations and warnings about being towed. Perhaps if you and other neighbors call often enough, it will be what is needed for them to conduct a sweep on your street.
But YOU can't just call in a tow company to have that car hauled away. |

What's it to you? You don't own the street. As long as the driver or owner of the car isn't creating a hazard, there is nothing for you to complain about. The police will take care of it if there is a problem. But parked cars aren't a high priority for them, for reasons that should be obvious.
The law you refer to (which you should have read before asking this question) allows for a municipality to remove a vehicle parked illegally for more than 72 hours by city ordinance. I'm guessing there are no signs restricting parking. Therefore, this does not apply. |

There is not to much that you can do about it. You might ask the police about it and maybe they can say something to the owners, but I don't think there is much you can do. Why don't you park in front of their place and see what they do. |

As long as it's parked legally, they can park there forever and there is nothing you can do about it. You don't own the street. If it's that bothersome, you have the option of moving. |

Dam, I think he has all the right to park where ever he wants. as long as its a public street and he doesnt block drive ways..
next time he moves it park your car in front of your house, therefore he has to look for another spot. keep doing that until he finds another spot for his car to call home. lol
