Yes, the media are guilty of sensationalising this and other events.
Let's not forget that the primary motivation of journalists is not to bring us news, but to sell newspapers or boost TV ratings.
As soon as the words plane (or train) crash appear, they know the public will take notice. |

Let's just say, 20 perhaps even 10-15 years ago all on board would possibly have died in such an incident, however the news coverage does show how over immersed they can get in one particular story, especially on 24 hour rolling news. The good side is that it shows aircraft are getting built better considering the forces that were involved! |
