Ive got a friend who is turning 18 and is about to take his drving exam soon. While he wants to borrow my car to practice. Although hes promised not to do anything faster than 25 mph and we are going to the outback I'm still not sure about this. Is it better to pack him off to tthe driving school? Money's not a problem, he has enough but he wants to save the money. (It's about 500 RM) which is about 200 USD

Just so you know I'm almost 24 and hve been licensed for 4 and a half years, if that matters

He will save money by going to a driving school initially. If the instructor is competent he will learn quickly and will not develop bad habits. Bad habits can take a long time to get rid of.
Phone around and pick the most professional instructor that your friend can...they may be more expensive, but they will teach more thoroughly and put your friend into the test when they are ready and not before.
Once your friend has had around 10 hours you could supplement with your car but get insurance coverage 1st.

Recommend that your friend do the driver school thing. No disrespect, but you would show your friend how you drive, which may or may not be sufficient to pass the test. The driving school (a good one) will teach your friend how to drive and to pass the road test. Also, the school usually has their own vehicles plus their own insurance. Let a pro do it, unless you are really comfortable letting your friend drive your car.

Hmmm, so....you have had a license for a loaded gun for a couple years and your friend wants to borrow your loaded gun so he can practice for his license instead of going to school to learn how properly.....But he DID promise not to shoot any one you know....

I would recommend that you don't let him practice in your vehicle because whatever he does in your car you will be responsible for... |
