my question is why does it seem that a lot of motorist on the road driving next to me down the highway are always focused looking at my tires while they are driving ? yes i understand some truck drivers tires can come over the line sometimes . but we are all different drivers on the road and for the most part im a trype of driver even in a truck thats good at multitasking . which mean i can go down the road driving at the same time at looking at the motorist and my tires to makes sure they are not going over the line .i have some motorist who will actuall look at the tired from the time they even pass me then turn around real quick to see if im messing with them . and the whole time not even once did i come over . its just funny . not all drivers i see are like this smart ones will either just pass me up quick or slow down .which also brings me to the question why do some motorist drive slow next to big truck even when the trucker is putting his left blinker on ? im not a trucker who has road rage but honestly do these people care for their lives or what? are they just ignoring the single and taking their time or just frozen by the size of the truck ?what ever the case its dangerous usually for a good reason a trucker has his blinker on . i mean think of the reality of it if a truck sees a car coming off a off ramp at a slow speed and he cant slow down because the size of his truck or maybe there is a car on the shoulder with the 4 way blinkers on . do you think a truck is going to take the chance hitting a slow moving car thats on the shoulder or coming off a off rampor try to push you over?not saying this is the case all the time but you never know if you may have some car on the shoulder that may be kind of on the highway and the trucker may not see them until the last minute not to slow down . then you have this car next to you driving slow even with your blinkers on . people please use common sense . you have a lot of rude motorist out there including some truckers who just swing over and dont care for the lives of no ones . either slow up or pass them up dont driver slow next to them even while their blinkers are on

for the guy who says im to busy worrying about the the people driving on the road instead of paying attention just think for a moment about what you said .so basically youre saying by me not paying attention to these drivers then im paying attention to the road . that sounds like a driver who doesnt care about other motorist but only rushing down the road to get to his destination . for the other guy who said the government is more worried about getting a paycheck instead of educating other car drivers i agree . and i also agree with the girl who says you should give trucvkers more room and also i know you have some rude truckers out there who tailgate which is not also safe. but my main reason for posting this is was for safety for other drivers who are not truckers . believe me everyday i run into drivers who dont care about truckers as well as the ones who do and the ones who i feel shouldnt be on the road . like i stated earlier you do also have some rude truckers who will run

People have no consideration for trucks. What people have to remember is they can't stop an a dime, give them the room that they need. Everyone hates trucks, but remember, the stuff that you are going to buy is on that truck.

I've been driving trucks for over twenty years with over 3 million miles of driving under my belt.
It's just a fact of life in the world of truck driving. Some people just seem to get mesmerized by those big tires going round and round. If you've been truck driving for any time at all, you know that about 80% of the people driving cars are oblivious to everything that is going on around them. That is why we are the professionals, we have to compensate numerous times every day for the actions of people who are driving blindly.
I don't like it either, but there is really not much we can do about it. You know the law is not on our side. (well it is, but it isn't) you know what I'm saying. As long as the government is more worried about blaming recks on us and trying to figure out how they can regulate us more, instead of educating the public on driving around trucks, through drivers ed and testing

Can't understand it either. Cars get to running beside your rig, slipping in & out of your blindspots- completely clueless as to just how dangerous that is to them.
And a brand new tire can lose the tread just a a recap. If you take and run a virgin tire overweight & under inflated, the tread will separate identically in the same manner as a recap. And I have seen the end result of a tread separation at 65-70 MPH and the tread hitting the windshield of a passing car.
Sometimes I think we may have caused some of the problem- to some degree. When I drove all of the company trucks & the one time I claim temp insanity & bought my own- all had the aluminum rims & I kept them polished to a mirror surface. All of these cars get along side & can see themselves in my rims- almost a hypnotic condition at times. Then they forget that they are in a very dangerous position if we need to go into evasive action and need to exit the lane we occupy.
And these drivers that has more chrome than truck & the chicken lights- it's like driving around town at Christmas looking at the houses lit up. "Lookkit there Martha at the purty truk!"
And to the so-called ex-truck driver. Your comment showed the reason why you are now an ex-trucker......unless you think that the Ford Ranger you drove is a truck...... |

I dont drive a rig but I drive a bus, i get the same thing. Cars dont seem to get it, they like to stay in our blind spots.
Or if I signal right to get over on the freeway, a car will rush up and stay right at my door forcing me to back off and go behind them...idiots.
OR..someone's coming on the freeway and rushes past right at the last second, while their on ramp is merging in !
I have an airhorn, they get to hear it.
It's a fun job but damn, just wish some cars were more courteous out there. |
