ROAD RAGE - what can I do and what's the best revenge?

I was a passenger the other day; the speed limit was 75mph, and the driver was going between 75mph and 80mph. All of a sudden this DEMON from HELL started bearing down on her, trying to bully her into switching lanes behind some big trucks. This driver, probably going in excess of 100mph, then revved into the lane beside us, barely missing one of the trucks, and cut extremely close in front of us. The DEMON driver then proceeded to put his NASTY finger out of his car and stick the bird at us. We barely missed colliding into the back of his car, which, according to the laws of our fair state, would have placed us at fault ... if you hit the back of someone's car, it's your fault even when it's not. This, of course, pissed off my driver, who immediately saw red. She revved up the car and cut back right in front of the other driver. I really don't know if it affected the other driver or not, since he was getting ready to turn onto a side road. I was pissed off too ... and sick!!!

No, I didn't get the license plate. Usually I do ... but they were driving so fast, and I'm near-sighted. (Haven't worn my glasses in years, so the joke's on me!) The last time something like this happened I called the state troopers, but I'm not sure they found them. I think they give them a warning if they don't catch them in the act, but if they're off the road by that time they can't do anything. I was told by an officer that it does no good sometimes to track the license to a location, because the owner of the vehicle could claim that someone else was driving it at the time.

It's not easy to just give the roadway to a rotten driver without feeling some rage yourself. But if you want to do it and not feel a drawback, I would think that the perfect revenge, or therapy (I'd call it); would be to get surveillance cameras for your car that would tape action on all sides of the roadway. Then forward the bad occurences to your local law enforcement community.

The Best thing to do is turn ur Head.

But your driver should of scooted over and let the crazy one by than just scooted back over to the lane he was in.

It's not worth getting killed over just to save 2 minutes.

There is no best revenge. When you are set on revenge you put yourself into the game. You are assimilated. You are now a player. You have have become the DEMON from HELL.
Now there are two DEMONS on the road making it unsafe for the rest of us. Pissing us off and making us sick.
The safest and most intelligent way to win is to not play the game.

There are going to be bad drivers on the road. If someone is obviously driving recklessly you should do everything in your power to get out of their way. It may seem wrong to do so since you were not doing anything wrong, but punishing a bad driver is not up to you. In my state (Florida) there have been instances of road rage that ends in gun fire (because florida has very loose gun laws and just about everybody has one here) and in some cases the person getting revenge has been shot or worse a passenger has been shot or killed.

If you are not willing to go all the way and actually kill someone when the time comes, don't even bother chasing someone down - period. It may be something you will have to face. Half the time, they won't even know why they are being chased (as silly as it may sound) and feel justified for "defending themselves" which in a twisted way, is their right. If you wanna feel safe and deter road bullies, buy an suv. or drive in the right lane.

If someone is coming up behind you like that and there's room for you to move over, then do so. As soon as he's past, then you can move back over.

There's also no point in getting any kind of revenge on these stupid drivers. Anything you do could cause an accident, so just grin and bare it.

Some states have enqacted new road rage zero tolerance laws and get the license number and call it in to police. Ignore your urge to react on the road, the result could be an accident injuring or killing you and/or completely innocent drivers on the road around you.

Pull out your cell phone and act like you are taking their picture. That'll make them paranoid about what they are doing.

just move over, keep out of the way. The demon may be on drugs or alcohol, getting mad at him will have no effect. Save your anger for something you can do something about.

If this only happens once in a blue moon, then just drive safe & don't let it bother you.

If it happens a lot, give some thought to the highways you drive on & where it happens ... maybe other highways would be less risk.

Suppose you decide you want to fight back. Here is a game plan. Get a camera mounted in your car that can point in various directions, that you don't have to hold in both hands, you just push some buttons or dials for which way to point, and if it is running or not.

Practice operating the camera with some innocent vehicle targets so you get good at it. This photographic evidence should be sufficient to show the behavior of the other vehicle, other vehicles on the road, and your driver behavior. Since you know the camera is collecting the evidence, it puts extra pressure on your driver to behave.

It does not matter about your eyesight, if you got good quality camera that is able to self-adjust the focus for the conditions (it won't work great at night time when the lighting is lousy).

After each incident, write on an index card the date time highway you were on, etc. and hold that up to the camera for the end of the video tape.

What do you do with the video tape?
You want to be able to get off the highway, tet equipment from trunk of your car to make copy of tape, because you plan to give one copy to the state police ASAP, while hiding the copy you plan to give to the news media.

The state police may be able to catch the other driver.
The news media will put more people on alert about this menace.

When you give the copy to the news media, include info on who sells the kind of camera you got, so as to entice other people to do what you are doing.

Your friend is just as big an idiot. It is fine to get revenge, but you get revenge by being where they want to be without putting yourself or anybody else in danger. You do it by being a far better driver than the other person, not by being just as bad, or worse. You do it by driving sensibly, and with the speed limit. And if you can't manage it like that, you just let them go.

People just do not care any more about other people and it has been that way for years. First thing i would have done is let the yo yo pass me. Then i would have gotten behind him get his tag number called the cops. Tell them what was going on and then let them handel it.

Did you get his licence plate number? If so you should call the athorities.

Were you in the leftmost lane? If so, you are at fault.

You are no one to decide that this driver can't go 100mph. If you didn't see him approach you in your rearview mirror, then you aren't paying enough attention to your driving.

If you didn't change lanes after he made it clear numerous times that you should, then you are the bad driver.

If you see someone behind you who is driving faster than you are, you change lanes and let them pass you. That's all there is to it.

What's kind of fun is to follow the driver to where they are going. Reach into their car and take their keys. Throw their keys on top of a house or building and tell them to think about their careless driving while their looking for their keys.
