So I was going home from my sister's house around 10:30 pm. I got to the toll booth and ran out of coins. I had to pay .75, I tossed in 50 and looked around for change. As I was doing this the guy behind me scream "Just go man!" and so I just ran the red light and had .25 cents left to pay.
This was my first offense, couple of weeks beforehand I ran a E-Pass way because I wasn't sure which lane was coins or E-Pass (Also first offense) if this is included.
Question is anything going to happen to me? I've heard they give you a warning, other things I've heard is you get a ticket in the mail and you get points on your license, you get mailed the toll and have to pay it by check or money order.
Worst thing i've heard is a guy ran a toll because his father had an emergency and they still suspended his license.
If I do get a ticket couldn't I just lie and say I paid the toll but the light didn't change, or the money didn't go through, or the guy behind me threatened to kill me?

You'll get a penalty, about $25, and be ask to paid the toll. Your license will not be suspended because they don't know who was driving the car. Your penalty will increase every time you skip paying the toll. |

Its not a big deal man.
Just call up there and make the payment, or mail it.
I have EZ Pass and went thru a EZPass and Cash lane, there was a barricade bar in the way, so i couldnt just cruise thru like normal with EZPass.....so i told the lady I have EZPass, she tells me to go thru.
So when i drive thru the BUZZER goes off really LOUD!
(as if I ran the toll booth,lol)
I guess it glitch up or something, because my ezpass was still charged like normal. |
