They are fun to back up. Especially when you are driving a Freightliner Classic with a 53' trailer & they want you to back up to a dock that only has 45 feet between the dock & the building in front of it.

A thumbs down. I can guarantee you it wasn't given to me by a real trucker, but most likely by someone who gets a nose bleed driving something the size of a Ford Excursion & probably still drives an old Yugo.
Any driver that has ever gone to some of the docks in & around Carson, Commerce or Ontario, CA or anywhere in the Burroughs of New York, know first hand that these types of docks still exist & are a b*tch to get into with a 53' trailer to where they can still safely load/unload your trailer & not damage your rig or trailer. |

what about it? if your talking about backing up a semi trailer then if the trailer starts to turn towards a mirror turn the wheel towards that side, so if it turns towards the driver mirror turn wheel to left, if it goes in the passenger mirror so turn wheel to the right, but don't turn the wheel all the way, just enough to straighten up the trailer |

The key is to make small adjustments frequently. It's rare that the trailer will stay straight, so always make sure you have the same amount of trailer in each mirror. |
