SEAT BELTS - Should we wear them for short distances ?

yes, you should. most accidents happen while in "auto-pilot." meaning you aren't paying much attention simply because you know the area so well.

Wearing your seatbelt should be a habit. In fact, you should feel somewhat "guilty" if you don't put it on everytime you get into a car/SUV/pickup truck. It's the HABIT which keeps you safe, not just doing something right once in a while because you happen to remember it.
Habits are like a "default" on your computer........if there is an emergency, you automatically do what comes naturally.....the "habit"..............whether it be how you brake, how you steer, or whether you put on your seat belt before you got HIT.......so, I say, yes, you should wear your seatbelt anytime you get into any vehicle equipped with one. Oh, another thing.......most crashes occur very close to your residence because it's so familiar that you don't pay enough attention.

EVERY time you start the car !!! The majority of accidents occur very close to one's destination. Seat belts save many lives and serious injuries each day. Thank Ralph Nader !!!

Seat belts should be worn at all times.You pay a fine in many states if caught not wearing it.

Most accidents happen close to home.Many lives have been saved because the victim was not thrown out of the vehicle.

if you didn't it would help with population control but for your own good you always should wear one. 70% of all wrecks happen within 10 miles of the persons home.

Yes. Not only do most accidents occur close to home, but any collision at higher than 8mph will overpower your ability to stay put.

Yes, no matter were you decide to travel it is always in your best interest to wear your seat belt. Like many people have been stating automobile accidents frequently occure around 5 or less miles away from ones home! So make sure you always wear your seatbelt!!

of course ... that's why the laws are in place ... they say most accidents happen within 20 miles of home ... of course what they don't say is most driving happens within 20miles of home.
