BANNING CELL PHONES WHILE DRIVING!!!!!!!

Mr. Magoo
Sorry, it's a bad idea. For one thing, it is impossible to enforce. But more to the point, people do many things inside of their cars that can distract them. Such as fiddle around with the radio or change CD's or eat or put on their makeup or yell at the kids in the back of the car or talk to much to the person next to them. I have even seen people reading newspapers and maps while driving. These are all just as distracting as using a cell phone. Therefore, all of these other behaviors should be made illegal as well and good luck enforcing that.

Yes it is very much a great idea. people on the cellphones have the tendency to pay to much attention to the call and not on their driving, there for the cellphones contribute to car accidents.

People yakking on the phone while driving aren't giving their full attention to the road and what is going on around them.
I see idiots every day in the left hand (passing) lane going slow while oblivious to the fact that they are clogging up traffic, so absorbed in their cell phone call.
I have seen people yelling at their phone and swerving down the road almost causing an accident. Driving while in the middle of an emotional problem like an argument is really dangerous.
The largest section of society I see yakking on cell phones while driving are teens, who are the worst drivers, because they are the least experienced. The last thing they need is a distraction like this while driving.
Don't get me wrong, cell phones are a great tool, but shouldn't be used while on the road unless it is an emergency. Even then, I think the car should be pulled over if possible.

Yes, it's a very good idea to ban cell phones while driving. When talking while driving, your concentration is not on the road and your surroundings, can lead to accident(disregard other human beings life and safety), clogging up traffic, improper signal or no signal at all. People become too engulfed in their conversations, not enough attention on the road, when driving and talking on cell phone.

I say yes. they are dangerous and people are too preoccupied with the call to concnetrate on driving. I really get nervous when I see a person jawing away on the phone when they should be driving ...
