park vehicle as far of the highway get out of vehicle and walk away from it and call for tow to many killed sitting in vehicles or trying to fix them

Pull over to right. set hazzard lights. setting parking brake is good, but drivers don't use them often. It may not work. If you have cell phone. Notify police. They can arrange for a tow truck of any auto you wish.
Keep in mind some cost more than others. Good to have a local one where you have service done!
Do not remain in the car. This is how fatalities occur. Get away from vehicle until help arrives!

1. Pull over to the right side on the road if at all possible.

2. Put on your emergency flashers.

3. Set the handbrake and turn off the vehicle.

4. Lift up the hood.

5. If possible put a white rag on the antenna.

6. Call for assistance.

you should place some notice for wraning other driver your car is out of order. especially at night, you may have a flashing light for give singal to others.
