Yes you see, I can't stand the ghetto. I have to go to work on a route that's in the ghetto. All those d@mn teenagers with their pants bellow their knees, gangsters, gangs, and graffiti. It makes me loose faith in the human race. The real point of this question is how should I protect myself. Would barb wire on my car, or bullet proof glass work?

No. Getting a different job, so that you can drive a different route, would work.
Barbed wire could injure you if you crashed. |

Request a route change or change jobs. Think about the soldiers who walk down dusty streets and never know who' s going to shoot at them. Your job is safer. In order to "Bulletproof " your car you would have to start from the frame up. too expensive for the common man.
